What can computers do now that you never dreamed would be possible? What do you hope they’ll be able to do in the future?
Sponsored by WePC.com. Help us make your Dream PC a reality.I definitely never thought we'd be watching actual video on a computer screen. Hopefully one day it can do jumping jacks while reciting all of Shakespeare's sonnets as well.
Do you believe in ghosts?
No.
Are you interested in intergalactic travel? What would you hope to discover?

Hopefully a more advanced and intelligent and less weak-willed and corruptible species than humans!
First, a few honorable mentions:
Body of Lies (directed by Ridley Scott), Rachel Getting Married (Jonathan Demme), Frozen River (Courtney Hunt), Revolutionary Road (Sam Mendes)
All in all, I found it to be a somewhat underwhelming year for movies. Very few of them TRULY wowed me (#'s 1 & 2 being the only ones; #3 came close; #4 could potentially wow me on a second viewing); any other year, the selections for #'s 6-10 likely wouldn't have made the cut. Oh, well. I'll keep my fingers crossed for this year to be a bit better. : /
What is your favorite classic video arcade game?
Submitted by northerngeek.
My parents never allowed me to play video games, so going to the local Circus pizza and arcade was the only chance I got. I have to say I probably enjoyed playing "Rampage" there the most. After all, the premise was pretty simple: climb the buildings, and smash them down. : )
Well, this week I lost the last of my grandparents. My maternal grandfather died Tuesday morning after being put in a life-threatening predicament following what was supposed to be a simple knee replacement surgery. See, the nurses forgot to turn him in his bed following the surgery and he developed a HUGE bedsore on the side of his thigh. From there his health just deteriorated. He fought every step of the way and managed to squeeze out 3 more months of being alive...but in the end, how do you beat out death?
The biggest irony about this is that this all transpired not long after my maternal grandmother's death just before Christmas. Them both dying within a mere 5 months of each other is just...weird. Anyway, I guess it's kind of a full circle for the decade, which began with my paternal grandfather dying a mere 2 weeks after his 93rd birthday in 2000 -- and then this happens within the last 13 months of it.
My grandpa and I sort of grew apart these last 4-5 years (taking on this thrid-shift job I now have certainly didn't help matters), but wherever his soul may now be in that old post-death void, I wish him peace and a pleasant journey.
The smell of gasoline: Love it or hate?
I like it in moderation, I guess you could say. There are definitely worse-smelling liquids in the world.
What one thing, without fail, puts you in a bad mood?
Every time I drive it never fails to get my blood pressure up, it seems. If it's not having to stop (along with several other people) at a traffic light so that ONE freakin' person can make a left turn, it's getting behind someone driving well below the speed limit or witnessing double-(or even triple- or quadruple-) lane changes, or someone veering off onto an exit or into a different lane at the last minute, as if they don't know where the fuck they're going. My philosophy about driving has always been 'the less time one spends on the road, the better'...and it seems to be getting more relevant each day. Come on, scientists, could we PLEASE work a little harder at making teleportation a reality ASAP? Granted, there'll be problems there as well, but at least most of us will be off the damn road.
What story of personal greatness, achievement or success would your co-workers or friends be surprised to learn about you?
Sponsored by Nature Made.I don't think many people I know would be aware that I've performed at Carnegie Hall. Not personally, of course, but with various members of my college choir (and alums). We had a one-off performance of Mozart's Requiem there back in May of '97. And it's still the only time I've been to NYC so far.

The Tagalongs rule!!!! But the Thin Mints aren't bad, either. They're actually all good, I guess, but my Tagalongs are nearest and dearest to my heart.
